About the Role

AB Health is seeking a reliable and skilled Handyman and Home Maintenance Worker to join our community support team. We provide essential in-home support to older people and veterans, helping them maintain their independence and live safely in their own homes.

In this role, you will travel to various client homes across the community to perform general upkeep. Your day to day duties will include lawn mowing, weeding, gutter cleaning, pressure washing, and basic household repairs.

You will be the face of AB Health in the community. This means we rely on you to not only fix things but to communicate clearly with our clients, understand their specific preferences, and ensure their environment is safe. You will work closely with our coordination team, follow client care plans, and log your tasks accurately after each shift to ensure seamless service delivery.

If you take pride in your practical skills and want to make a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable people in your community, we would love to hear from you.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in general home maintenance, handyman tasks, or gardening.

  • Current Australian Driver's Licence and a reliable vehicle.

  • National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one prior to starting).

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check (WWCC).

  • Right to work in Australia (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid Visa).

  • Own basic maintenance and gardening equipment is highly preferred.

  • Strong communication skills and a respectful, patient attitude towards older people and veterans.

  • Ability to submit accurate digital shift notes after completing jobs.
